Morfa Lodge Holiday Park is located close to Caernarfon Airport and the northern base of the Search and Rescue.
The Search and Rescue service is operated by the Bristow Group, working on behalf of HM Coastguard. Caernarfon was identified as one of the most suitable locations when the strategic placement considerations were made. This makes the base located nearby one of the ten bases in the UK.
Caernarfon opened its Search and Rescue service on 1st July 2015 and has already made many successful missions to aid those in trouble, in and around the North West region. Missions are received through the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC), who work in collaboration with other emergency services to provide a swift and effective response team.
UK Search and Rescue teams work with state of the art helicopters that have very powerful capabilities, as well as a distinct, commanding presence in the air. Rescue helicopters in service such as the Sikorsky S-92 and AgustaWestland AW189 are equipped with latest search and rescue technology that includes night vision, mission management and onboard medical service capabilities.
The service is a real helping hand in emergency situations. Since Morfa Lodge Holiday Park is located in close proximity to the air base, we thought you’d like to know all about the Search and Rescue service.
