The environmental agency have recently started work on the embankment to
open up the footpath which leads to the Foryd Bay Nature Reserve and RSBP Morfa Dinlle Reserve for easier access.
Morfa Dinlle is 117 acres of grazed pasture protected by flood defence walls. The pasture land consists of west pasture with permanent pools and shallow seasonal pools, rushy pasture and some higher ground. It is situated on a low lying peninsula forming part of a system of grazing marsh and sand dunes which extend north towards Anglesey. The seaweed side of the
peninsula has a popular beach and picturesque setting with the backdrop of Snowdonia to the east.
The objective of the RSPB is to manage the site and provide ideal habitat for existing nesting lapwings on the site and to increase the breeding numbers to 26 pairs within 10 years.

Winter Walks and Birdwatching at North Wales Holiday Park - 02 Dec 2011

Lapwing a common sight
Winter is a fantastic time to visit the area, blow away a few cobwebs and lift the soul with a walk around the nature reserve adjacent to the Morfa Lodge North Wales Holiday Park. Foryd Bay, an area of saltmarsh that is designated as SSSI is a wonderful place to view a variety of birds. You can read more on the RSPB site.
During winter the whole area, including a salt marshes south of the bay, are teeming with a wide variety of ducks and waders including flocks of widgeon, plus shellducks, oystercatchers, curlews and lapwing, and a sprinkling of other species such as ringed plover, redshank and greenshank.
There is even a bird watching hide that can be booked by contacting the Countryside Wardens’ Office on 01286 679281.
Snowdonia Driving - 21 Oct 2011

Driving through Snowdonia
This time of year is wonderful for driving around Snowdonia, the roads are much quieter and you will hopefully get fantastic clear days to enjoy the Autumn foliage and shades.
We always love a run around Snowdon, up the Llanberis Pass, past Pen y Gwrydd, turning left into Nant Gwynant, over to Beddgelert and back to the Morfa Lodge Holiday Park. Take a leisurely few hours to enjoy stunning scenery and a nice cup of tea and maybe a tempting scone.
